Armadillo officinalis “orange crush” species origin is Sicily and is close in coloration to A. officinalis “red” which originates from Europe. Both are large, orange-to-red morphs that exhibit the signature “hissing”, which involves tucking themselves into a tight ball, rubbing their legs on the inside of their carapace to create a hiss-like sound.
