Lobella sp. "Thai red" springtails
Lobella sp. "Thai red" springtail starter culture (25+ count)
Native to Thailand, these chubby and slow moving springtails are by far my favorite springtail in the hobby. These big and beautiful red springtails do best in a warm and humid environment and are best kept in soil instead of the calcium clay commonly used to culture white springtails. Since they are bold and bright, they make an excellent food source for smaller reptiles and amphibians such as dart frogs.
Springtails are essential members of any bioactive clean up crew. No enclosure should be without them! Springtails keep mold at bay and work in harmony with isopods, eating decaying plants, excess food sources and waste products.
Lobella sp. "Thai red" are easy to care for, they do best with temps ranging from 75-85 degrees. They spend most of their time inside the substrate but you can see them swarming food during feeding time.
