Rambutanura sp. "Thailand" are known for their bright red color, chubby bodies (chubbier with shorter spikes compared to the Vietnam locale), and raspberry-like appearance, they are exceptionally popular among vivarium and micro-fauna hobbyists for their unique size and love for feasting on slime molds.
Key Characteristics & Care
  • Size: Massive for a springtail, reaching up to 3–5 mm in length.
  • Diet: While they will clean up general organic decay, they are renowned "slime mold eaters" and are frequently fed Physarum polycephalum.
  • Lifecycle: Females lay clutches of eggs in bark crevices or wood rot. The eggs start white and turn a deep, vibrant pink/red just before hatching.
  • Environment: They thrive in high-humidity enclosures with a deep, moist substrate (such as wood rot or bark) to hide and lay their eggs.

**This listing is for a starter culture of Thai spiky springtails. You will receive a 10+ count with a mix of sizes from juvenile to adult.
